I grew up in an apartment in Amsterdam and it was no different to me than living in a house. I had a place to keep all of my belongings and it was always enough. Plus there were bonuses and perks to living in an apartment that I never thought about until a friend of mine bought a house. For one, I never had to mow a lawn and if something broke there was always someone available to take care of the maintenance, generally even the same day.
So one day I had to move, and it was out of the country to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. My fiancé wanted to live there which was her home and near her family. Since I was an only child and my parents had already passed I had nothing to lose, so was all for it. Instead of living with her parents in Amsterdam though I wanted to look at Amsterdam apartments so we could find our own place. I already had a job lined up as my work was able to transfer me to a facility we had there anyway.
I was astounded from the moment I got off the plane to see how much Amsterdam seemed like home to me already. Sure there was going to be a little language barrier for me, but the scenery was worth it. And for me to be able to look for Amsterdam apartments in what was once called the wealthiest city in the world was amazing to me. And to ride along the Amsterdam canals in the summer would be something to send pictures to my friends about.
The best thing about the Amsterdam apartments is that they are no different than any other apartment I have ever lived in. Ok that’s not quite true, they are actually better since they are so well taken care of.
